Public Art Proposal
Search & Rescue

Design not chosen

For Fire Station 38, we are tasked to design and produce exterior grade Functional Art. The Architect designed the shape and structure that we as artists will adhere to. Our job is not hide or redesign what the Architects designed; our job is finish what they started.

The fire station personnel must respond to a multitude of scenarios. They don’t simply put out fires; they respond to car accidents, drownings, and the litany of natural disasters experienced by Oklahomans. In a word, they Rescue. My proposal uses that word in the title of my design: Search and Rescue.

The patio wall design opens up to natural light to offer a view of the beautiful architectural landscaping outside the patio perimeter.
