All Souls Procession Street Art
Public Art samples from the annual All Souls Procession in Tucson, AZ
Each year I would display new art work through the streets of Tucson. Several of the works were installations at the procession Finale where a ceremonial Urn was burned.
The honoring and celebration of the dead and the living was a ritual that I wanted to contemplate and activate as a transformative group activity, a gathering of individuals to create an experience of communication through the universal language of visual and acoustical art as a part of a larger story. Each day we wake with the sunlight and sleep upon nightfall. As with the seed and the harvest, this cycle repeats itself with the waking spring and the long night of winter.
